What does the Electric Power segment do?

The Electric Power segment focuses on data center generator sets and solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) as its core businesses, extending to soundproof enclosures, power distribution cabinets, and power station systems. It deeply covers key scenarios such as data centers, oilfields, mines, and waterway power grids, aiming to provide global customers with safe, reliable, efficient, low-carbon, and intelligent integrated power solutions.

Broad Global Market Prospects
The rapid development of the AI industry has triggered explosive growth in AI data centers, driving energy demand to soar exponentially. Distributed energy solutions, especially power generation technologies with fast deployment capabilities, are facing major development opportunities. The IEA predicts that by 2030, global data center electricity consumption will reach about 945 TWh, more than double that of 2024.

Forward-Looking Strategic Foundation
As early as 2009, Weichai Power strategically reorganized France’s Baudouin, starting its large-bore engine business and expanding from marine power to hybrid power, gas engines, and power generation. In 2018, Weichai Power made a strategic investment in Ceres Power, a global leader in SOFC technology, to jointly promote SOFC product development and application.

Core Technology Leading the Industry
In the data center power generation field, Weichai has completed a product lineup of generator sets ranging from 1250 kWe to 5000 kWe and launched the world’s first 5 MW high-speed diesel generator set, model 20M61, with the highest power density globally. Its starting and loading capabilities meet world-class standards. In fuel cell power generation, Weichai’s SOFC system has passed EU CE certification. The company has completed a new generation of high-power SOFC products with power generation efficiency exceeding 65%, startup time under 6 hours, and overall technology at an international leading level.

Products Highly Praised by the Market
In 2025, Shandong Heavy Industry’s data center power equipment sales grew by 259% year-on-year, ranking among the top three globally in the electric power business. For data center generator sets, Weichai has partnered with leading domestic and international internet companies, operators, and COLO providers. In SOFC, Weichai launched the world’s first large-power metal-supported SOFC commercial product, with multiple demonstration projects successfully running. The first 100 kW SOFC product was commercially applied by Weifang Energy Group, marking a breakthrough; another 100 kW SOFC product was delivered to State Power Investment Corporation for China’s first SOFC distributed energy project in public health services. To date, demonstration projects have accumulated nearly 70,000 operating hours.
