Dredging vessels are one of the most core equipment in the marine engineering industry, and dredgers have particularly high requirements for power and features to suit working conditions. Recently, the Junchuan vessel equipped with Weichai 12M55 engine has become the main dredger for the Pinglu Canal project, a flagship project on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, an important trade and logistics passage jointly built by provincial-level regions in western China and ASEAN members.
Junchuan is 65.5 meters in length, with a maximum dredging depth of 25 meters, a total installed capacity of 4076kW, and a standard dredging capacity of 2000 cubic meters per hour. Although it has not been put into use for a long time, the Weichai 12M55 engine has received positive feedback from customers. It is expected that in the near future, there will be 2 more vessels serving this project equipped with Weichai 12M55 engines.
Below are 5 outstanding advantages of the 12M55 engine:
- Design of high rigidity core components such as body, cylinder
- Low speed, high torque, strong power
- Noise, vibration 20% lower than mechanical pump series
- Meet IMO Tier II emission standards
- Modular design with sturdy structures for easy installation and maintenance
