LNG fueled ships are gradually becoming the choice of many ship owners because of their outstanding advantages compared to traditional fuels. Grasping that trend, Wechai has researched and introduced into the market the liquefied natural gas engines that are trusted by many ship owners.

Since the beginning of this year, Weichai has been honored to be the supplier of LNG engines for key projects in China. In mid-January, the first batch of 29 ships equipped with LNG engines was handed over in Guangdong. Then, on January 31, two 5,000-ton container ships powered by liquefied natural gas was operated on the Jiangsu section of the  through Beijing-Hangzhou, marking the official accession of the model. LNG refueling model into the fuel supply market for ships. Both of these ships use Weichai 170NG engine, auxiliary engine is WP6 and 6M33 generator sets.
