Generator is one of the indispensable equipment in production, business and life activities. To ensure that the generator works on stably, with no issues preventing power distribution, the maintenance work is very important. Here are some tips during generatoroperation and maintenance:

Pay attention to listen to the generator rotor when starting. If there is an abnormal sound, stop and check the machine again.

Periodically check to see if the joints, wire ends are loose or not. When the rotor rotates strongly to the rated value, if the machine is shaken violently, the inspection must be stopped.

When the generator is operating, it is necessary to pay attention to the efficiency, pressure, and power indicators on the control panel to monitor whether the generator is running normally. If abnormality is detected, the machine must be stopped and checked. The important parameters during operation are as follows:

- Oil pressure, idle speed: 100 ~ 300kPa, rated speed: 350 ~ 600kPa

- Oil temperature: 85-  115℃

- Cooling water temperature: <99℃

Check the machine temperature regularly to make sure it's not more than 65℃.

Check that the generator base is flat and stable.

Exhaust color test, to estimate injector efficiency and engine load. In cases of having black or white smoke, stop and check the engine.

Avoid stopping the engine at full load. Before stopping, reduce the load and run the engine at idle for 3 to 5 minutes. This reduces damage to the piston, cylinder head, cylinder liner, bearing and turbocharger. When the engine stops suddenly, the turbocharger temperature will rise suddenly, which easily damages the bearing and oil seal.

Follow the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. Replace materials and spare parts such as filters for cooling water, oil, batteries... to ensure good operation of the machine.
